DD loves Willy Wonka and wants this as a theme for her party, she will be ahem 14. Any ideas for games or decorations? Tia.

Is she open to playing old fashioned games in a kind of retro/ironic way?

Have a chocolate fountain, or at the very least a big bowl of melted chocolate to dip stuff into.

Pin the tail on the Oopmah Loompah?

Great theme.

Make bunting that looks like golden tickets.

Not sure what games 14 year olds would happily play. Any ideas to start things off?

You used to be able to buy Willy Wonka chocolate when the Johnny Depp film came out..you could play the game where you have to try to eat it with a knife and fork while the otehrs roll a dice to get a 6.

At the end of the DVD (Johnny Depp version) they show you the Oompa Loompa dance moves IIRC -they could master the dance/have a dance competition

Has to be chocolate fondue. And you can make a cake decorated to look like a box of chocs.

Identifying different types of chocolate bar whilst blindfolded?

pointydog · 10/05/2009 17:41

oh yes, I can imagine 14 year olds liking a blind tasting competition. Good idea, jane.

pointydog · 10/05/2009 17:41

How m any marshmallows can people fit in their mouths competition?

swineoclock · 11/05/2009 11:58

great ideas, thank you, keep them coming. DD is not your average teen, shes quite eccentric in her own way, so silly games would be good.

There is a fun game with jelly babies but may be too far removed from chocolate?

swineoclock · 13/05/2009 10:53

jelly baby games are good, doesn't necessarily have to be chocolate, just looking for sweet based games.

Okay - jelly baby game.

Teams of three or four.

Each team gets ten jelly babies and ten sticks of (dried) spaghetti plus any random junk they find lying around.

They have ten minutes to create an inspirational work of art and write the art gallery pretentious babble blurb for it,; they then introduce the other teams to this important piece of art, explaining why it is the most interesting piece in the gallery.

Sounds stupid but is great fun, especially for zany teenagers with an ironic/slightly mad/indie/emo bent.
