Party Game ideas

Hi,
My daughter is having a party for her 6th birthday on Sunday and I am now struggling for ideas for games.

I am going to get them to decorate a card tiara when they arrive to wear for the party. Then the games I have thought of so far are: Pass the parcel, pin the tale on the donkey, musical satues, and musical bumps. This is the first real party she has had, there are only 6 coming (Wanted to keep it small), have bought some prizes, but not sure if they are too big, what is the 'done' thing and how many games should I have ready.

Any ideas will be greatly recieved.

Thanks

I don't think you need too many games, to be honest. At that age, they're happy to play. You could do a treasure hunt - hid 'coins' made of card or foil and exchange them for a prize at the end of the game. My favourite is an alternative version of pass the parcel where you pass a box containing small, individually wrapped parcels so each child gets a little gift.

When you want them to quieten down play the game whose name I can't remember but basically you have a tray with 10 or 15 objects which they can look at for two minutes. Then cover it with a cloth and see how many they can remember-writing down if they are OK with writing or taking in turns to say an object otherwise.

Also try flap the fish and who can keep a balloon up in the air the longest if you have room.

If its a nice day buy 6 bubble blowers and send them out into the garden
