Do is going to be 40 at the end of May and i have no idea what to get him.

He is into cars (has a tvr), goes karting regularly, works in IT but has quite a lot of gadgets already. What can I get him???
Help!!

Try "Virgin Experience" days - I got my DH the flying lesson one for Xmas and it was great! Comes in a nice presentation pack with voucher thingy inside so they have something to "upwrap" as well!

If he's into cars they have things at race tracks or rally driving experience and there are various locations all over the country.

I'd second an experience day. So if he's in to cars then a racing experience. Or you can hire classic cars for a weekend - about £600 for an old Rover, or £900 for a Ferrari - so very expensive - been looking in to it for DH and quickly discounted the idea. I bought him a glider flight instead!

Last year we went to the Morgan car factory (in the Malverns) and hired a Morgan V8 sportscar for the day - including the insurance it wasn't much more than £100 and we had the most lovely time - there's loads of beautiful pubs around there and vineyards and stuff. It's on the edge of the Cotswolds. Highly recommended. Link here

Thanks. The Morgan one sounds very good.

Here's another suggestion courtesy of DH who is also into cars too (currently owns a 911 but has gone through 2 Loti and numerous motorbikes)- and top of his list is a track day with a Radical (he can dream on...) However, he'll settle for a track day with a Caterham Superlight.

definitely the best track day you can afford, but work out if single seaters, rally etc will float his boat.

Can't remember what we did for DH's 40th. Shrouded in the mists of time
