Cake Suggestions for 2 year old?

DS2 is 2 next week and I would like to make a cake. Last year I got away with a round sponge decorated with smarties, jelly tots etc etc but this year would like to do something a bit more adventerous - but not too complicated!

I don't live in the UK and you cannot buy the lovely themed style cakes like the ones in M&S/Tescos etc over here - so its up to me to make one!

He likes trains, dinasaours, animals, cars etc - the usual 2 year boy things!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a simple cake - or suggest a website for ideas?

here??
Alternatively, just cover a cake with "roughed up" green butter icing icing and stick plastic animals/dinosaurs on top?
The other thing I've done is a treasure chest cake which was effective, but perhaps better for a slightly older child.

The cake my boys have liked best was the simplest I've ever done - a square cake covered in green butter icing - used matchstick chocolates to make 3 train tracks of different lengths onto it with chocolate fingers broken in half as buffers. Stuck on 3 trains from our wooden track and candles - Jobs a good un! //
