Do you celebrate your dc birthdays with parties with friends or days out with the family

or both iyswim? Just wondered what others prefer/do!

I prefer it being just us, we go out and do something both my girls want to do and have a wonderful day.

I do throw parties for my girls, but I prefer tea parties without the stress of people bringing gifts, so the birthday tea parties are either a week or so before or after the actual birthday, and they're just parties...princess parties according to the girls who attend

dd1 is 3 next week, we are having a day out with close friends and their 2 boys on the day, and then 3 of her friends are coming over for tea and cake the day after.

I don't think I feel up to parties yet!

Thats how I feel for my boys I prefer a day out just us! Did do a party last year for ds1 and it wasn't the same! Their birthdays aren't till ages yet though. The party was because I caved into presure from mil who kept saying you've got to have a party for them mine ALWAYS had a party and dh began to feel we were depriving ds by not giving him a party but I certainly prefer a day out as a family tbh! Glad I'm not alone!

How old are your boys, after a time I found both my girls just told me whatthey wished to do for their birthday.

If you MIL wants to throw a party for your boys let her, at her house.....???

family and godparents come round on the day for a buffet lunch....then a party for little friends on the nearest saturday, soft play for the last couple of years

btw, her bd is always in the hols and she is an only one
