Is this ok as a going home present instead of a party bag

I have wrapped up a Dora The Explorer book (£3.99) as a going home present for each of the guests coming to dd's 3rd birthday. I'm starting to get cold feet - is this ok or will people think it's tight/be disappointed not to get a bag full of "things"?

Most parents (and plenty of children too) will be thrilled to get on decent thing rather than a bag of tat.

I would rather et a book than a whole bag of tat - what a lovely idea

I think thats great. Much better than a bag of plastic.

I've done similar in the past and it went down well.

I often sit at the exit with a big bucket'o'books, and just let them choose a bit.

(NB: The Book People is a great place to get giant piles of books at £1 each or so.)

Think it sounds lovely as it is something the children will keep and enjoy. Ime, most party bags filled with plastic tat are in the bin as soon as the Mum can secretly dump!

I always do book people books rather than party bags and it always goes down well.

kids might like a sweet as they go, parents will be pleased

Have received 2 party bags so far (DD only 2).

She has played with the stickers in one, and none in the other.

I ate the crap sweets. I binned the choking sized plastic tat. I was then appalled at the price of the "party tat" packs in the supermarket.

Book sounds lovely.
