If you dc is invited to a party but can't go, do you still give a present?

It's a 4th birthday party, btw. Everyone else in dd's nursery class will be there but she's got an invite to another do.

No, not unless it was a close friend you might have got a pressie for, even if there was no party .

My DS's have twice (in 8 years) been given a present by someone invited, but not able to attend their party.
