All arrangements are now in place for the Naming day/Christening off my two children (girl and boy) and we thinking of having a song played!! But I'm having trouble chosing a suitable song! It has to be suitable for both genders and church!! Has anybody else done this and did you have an accompaning instrument? Or does anybody have any suggestions? I have a few in mind but not feeling very confident about them!!!!

The Russell Watson version of You Raise Me Up???

our church had that at a family service recently.

What were you thinking of?

Yes I liked that at first not sure if it's a bit sad though???? I also sing to my daughter "I can't take my eyes off you" but not sure if this more of a wedding 'first dance' song!!?
Russell Watson has just released 'Va, Pensiero' (Italian lullaby) which I quite like???
Again any more suggestions greatly appreciated!!! come on guys!!!

I think maybe if you're feeling abit down it's sad, but if you're up it's inspiring?

I like the idea of your other suggestion but have never heard it.

There is a version by someone called Secret Garden with Tracy Campbell Nation and a bloke and it is a bit gospel inspired and reall uplifting.

We had Getting To Know You from the King and I for our DD and Don't Stop Me Now by Queen for our DS. Just two songs that seemed to fit.

what about "love shine a light" Katia and the Waves. perhaps a bit twee but jolly and positive?
