Halloween fancydress for an adult, I don't want to go as a witch!

I have a 'strictly fancy dress' Halloween party to go to and I have absolutely no inspiration for an outfit. Please help!!!!!!!!

I really really don't want to go as a witch

I need it to be easy to make as I don't fancy buying something. I can sew a bit.

The other alternative is to not go but i've never really been to a fancy dress party before so would rather go

Long black wig, long black dress - good makeup, red lipstick = Morticia Adams.

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 14/10/2008 16:09

Yes, Morticia. Definitely.

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 14/10/2008 16:10

Or, if you can pull it off, a black cat in a tight fitting black outfit plus eats and tail. I DD had some fab sequinned black cat ears form Monsoon last year!)

Eddas · 14/10/2008 16:15

ah yes meant to add tight fitting not a good look for me

Morticia would be easy actually as my hair is long and brown. Could maybe dye it black or maybe just buy a wig as it could go disasterously wrong if i dye my hair

thanks puppymonkey and adragon

anymore ideas anyone??????

morticia is just a witch called another name
go as something non witchy. or if you must do witchy, go dressed as sarah palin

toobusytothink · 14/10/2008 16:35

go in v slinky red dress with horns - you little devil. Cheating slightly but you'll look fab

Eddas · 14/10/2008 16:47

thanks for that link nailpolish, not sure it has anything for me really

stitch not a fan of SP then

toobusy, believe me the red devil look would not work on a pearshaped slightly overweight me but I guess I would scare everyone

Myabe i'll go as a pumpkin it'd suit my big arse figure more

Matalan have loads of adult dressing up stuff too.

Aitch · 14/10/2008 17:00

lol at sarah palin. that's genius. a business suit, beehive and horns.

saggyhairyarse · 14/10/2008 23:19

I bought a knife through the head hairband and some fake blood and went as a zombie.

I backcombed my hair, wore the hair band, dripped the blood all over a white top and smudged mascara under my eyes. Just wore jeans.

Thomcat · 14/10/2008 23:22

I LOATHE fancy dress parties. LOTHE them.

Wear a black dress and take a broom and if hosts complain shove it up their jacksies!

Thomcat · 14/10/2008 23:32

Guess this would be impractical

solidgoldskullonastick · 14/10/2008 23:35

Undead is easy: just wear some old clothes you have muddied up and frayed a bit(or buy something from a charity shop and trash it), black blusher, green/mauve/grey eyeshadow all over your face and hands, and do the Zombie Walk.

brimfull · 14/10/2008 23:37

dd is going to a party as Amy Winehouse, but calling herself Amy Housewine lol

She's basically doing the hair and makeup like her and wearing slightly tarty clothes and ridiculously high shoes.

EstherGreenwood · 14/10/2008 23:41

I really feel you should lay off him dear, if he really doesn't want to go down the poop shoot you really can't force him

EstherGreenwood · 14/10/2008 23:56

I think I may have posted on the wrong thread
My apologies

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 15/10/2008 07:55

Wear an evening dress & a moose mask and say you've come as Camilla.

Eddas · 15/10/2008 08:03

lol adragon, bit too subtle for my friends. I'd be explaining myself all night. Although apparently someone is wearing a christmas tree outfit he made for a christmas do and is gonna say it's a haunted christmas tree

i'm loving that outfit thomcat. not sure i'm up to making that sort of costume!

But at least you'd look glamorous! which is my main criteria for fancy dress...

Eddas · 15/10/2008 08:34

trobule is I don't have evening dresses, i have no ocassion to need any! so i'd even struggle with that bit

charity shop wedding dress rather shredded with fake cobwebs and crazy hair - Bride of Frankenstein/Miss Havisham?

Eddas · 15/10/2008 08:41
