dd2 2nd bday party at nursery, what can i organize to make it special?

i will bring cake and goody bags. they already have music on and play most of they day.

any ideas of how i can make it exciting? can i organize something for them to do just for the party?

is it ok to put 'invites' in the chidlren's mailboxes about the party in the classroom?

Ds went to nursery on his birthday - he was excited to take his cake and candles and get a card from them all.

I think anything else would be OTT to be honest - if you want a party, then you have to do it at home

personally I would bill it as a Birthday Tea with the cake, 'goody bags' and some balloons rather than a full-on Birthday Party.

actually personally I wouldn't do anything at nursery at all and would have a family-only party at home at the weekend, but each to their own

You weren't allowed to take anything food related to my ds's nursery in case of allergies.
