2nd birthday - picnic in park - in the north - in september?

my idea was to have a laidback picnic so that everyone who knows us can come to our little one's 2nd birthday party, 2nd week of september. thought if we had it in a park, near a kid's playground and also in a park which had toilets, then it would be easy for everyone. no presents required, just come along and have a play if you want to... just looking at some of the posts in this section have made me start questioning myself. or does this sound like a perfectly reasonable plan!???

I think thats a very sensible plan!
No tidying up or mess to deal with.

Brilliant.

sorry to be a killoy but have you an alternative plan if it rains?

moodlesoup · 16/08/2008 21:46

no. plan a is all i have!
that's why i thought it was a rubbish plan!!
i thought about a gazebo but that seems like overkill. what do people do when rain ruins their plans? our house is not an option as its a diy hellhole.

If it's raining, you could meet at a soft play area instead?

gazebo, this is the answer, i'm going to hire a big gazebo from hss and put it up in the park! it will look slightly batty but its got to be better than enduring soft play!
