how do you play sleeping lions and any other games for 5yr old boy who doesn't want 'baby' games!

bubble wrap competition

3 or 4 teams - large piece of bubble wrap each. Play some music while they stamp and burst bubbles. First team to pop all bubbles wins a prize

Not sure about sleeping lions though sorry

Duck duck goose. Outdoors. Need 5+ children. They all stand in a circle facing in, except one who goes round outside tapping each person in turn on the head and saying 'duck, duck, duck...and then on one 'goose'. The 'goose' then has to chase him/her round the outside of the circle and catch him/her before he/she reaches the goose's place. Takes a bit of explaining to five year olds, but good fun. Remembered it after seeing it played in france recently except they called it 'Tomato Ketchup' - 'Tomate, Tomate...Ketchup!'.
Sleeping lions they just all lie still and if the adult in charge sees anyone moving they are out. Tickling etc ensues.

the eating-a-bar-of-chocolate game is good. Circle of children throwing a dice, when a 6 is thrown they run to the centre, put on gloves (and other items of clothing) and try to eat a bar of chocolate with a knife and fork. They get to carry on until the next child throws a 6 when they swap. All the time the children in the circle are trying to throw a 6.

I thought sleeping Lions was like musical statues. You shout "sleeping lions!" and everyone drops to the floor pretending to be asleep. I guess first to move is out?
