I got married last week and signed in my ex married name, so you will sign in your maiden name.

You didn't sign it?!

That means you're not legally married hanaflower!

sign it with normal signature, registrar then printed my name as I'd signed underneath - I got married last week. and registrar was very good at explaining and calming anyway, sure you'll be fine.

interesting, well mine was a town hall job but can't imagine that different from churchy thang?

lumpsdumps · 02/07/2008 16:12

When did you get married Slur? We got married on Monday gone at The Mill Forge.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 02/07/2008 16:13

Sorry hanaflower. I couldn't resist.

Bad me.

Smittals · 02/07/2008 16:16

oo, can't resist a top tip: at our wedding the photographer asked me to pose as if I was signing the register (having already signed it iyswim). Don't rest the pen at the START of your (already signed) signature unless you want the photo to look really really fake!

Small tip here, if you have been married before, when you marry again, use your maiden name, with a nee/aka for your previous married name. I was glad I did, because when our DS was born, I could use my maiden name on his birth certificate and didn't have to use my ex-husbands surname on it, which wouldn't have felt right.

Thank you all, it was really worrying me, and i forgot to phone the registar office this afternoon as the kids had the dentist
