It needn't be anything big or expensive but I feel we should get him something.
He has a train set although isn't mad about it, likes cars more, has a car garage, loads of other toys he only plays with sometimes.
Likes cooking stuff- has play food, tea set etc.

Help! Ideas very welcome!

my ds had his 3rd birthday a couple of months ago .. his favourite presents were a playmobil pirate ship, play doh, books ... and best of all ... a scooter!

skippysmum · 28/06/2008 22:23

Has loads of playdough but will look at space rockets - good suggestions so far! Keep them coming please!

the rocket DS2 has - and still loves and he's almost 5
my lot love the dressing up stuff too, fireman and space astronaut are the faves.
If you are likely to be shopping at ELC then go to their website and join the 'big birthday club', they send you 20% off vouchers and online codes

the other huge favourite in our house [tho you may need to save the idea for next year, so much more for 4yo's] ...LEGO!!

I'll stop menacing you now and find another thread to annoy

Has he got any Duplo?
Playmobil stuff is great

skippysmum · 29/06/2008 21:01

He has got some Duplo blocks but I'm a bit reluctant to buy more toys that are at the younger end of the age rage so more tempted by proper lego - but maybe he is too young for that and I should wait?

Would think probably a bit young for proper Lego

This kind of Duplo thing rather than just blocks maybe?
www.toyssfancydress.co.uk/lego-duplo-build-a-farm-5419-age-2-1326-p.asp. I think Duplo usually lasts them a good few years

Have you got room or money for a toy cooker? I don't but DS who was 3 last week would love one.

TeeBee · 30/06/2008 16:19

My Ds just had his third birthday, he got a new wood for his golf set (but he is obsessed), swingball, scooter (which he loves!), craft things, putting green thing so he can play golf indoors and outdoors (don't ask), play doh. He had a cooker last year and it has been very well used. Otehrwise Happyland things from ELC, our boys absolutely love it and it has been worth every penny as they play with it so much. How about dressing up outfits? Can you put him a dressing up box together?

skippysmum · 30/06/2008 16:57

OOh golf thing sounds good as he loved mini golf on holiday.

Also thinking doctors set from ELC as he likes playing doctors.

gillybean2 · 01/07/2008 23:52

Bob the builder telephone? It has several different game options on it and teaches them numbers and sounds etc. My son had one when he was younger.

Also what about jigsaws or floor puzzles? You can get simple rockets, trains etc. My son has always been jigsaw mad.

Sticker books or story books on CD such as horrid henry or dr suess maybe. CD/cassette player for his room if he hasn't already got one.
