AIBU

child 1 - invited
child 2 - not invited

I’ve had my child’s birthday party last week and we called a child to the party who has several other siblings. I made it clear to the parent it’s a small venue so the invite is just for the child we’ve invited. Party day arrives and they turned up with NO Gift and one of the older siblings along with the one invited. She then said that Child 2 wants to stay now because there’s a bouncy castle. She then eats & disappears leaving the kids at the party. She’s gone home and collected the other 2 of her kids and bought them to the party. She’s then filled bags of sweets from the sweet table and sent her child to put in the car & then proceeded to take cans of drinks before they left. While at the party all 4 of her kids were eating food (I ordered pizza’s in according to the children I called). As they left they had the cheek to all ask for party bags but I had to say sorry I only made per child that was invited and she didn’t seem to happy about that!

Im actually quite annoyed at her tbh!

I would send her a bill for the food they ate.... she's a cheeky bugger!!

ILoveMyCaravan · 29/03/2026 22:49

Why the hell didn’t you say something at the time!

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 29/03/2026 22:53

That’s atrocious

I feel really stupid for not saying anything, but I’m fuming. Got to the point we had to put the sweets away because she was literally feeling bags up everytime we turned out back. She really spoilt my mood for my child’s birthday

Unless she has recently arrived from a place where it is seen as acceptable (one of my relatives thinks it's awful not to offer parents a meal at your child's birthday, because they have recently moved here and it would be seen as very rude in that country)?
But if she has 4 kids and has lived here for some time, she will surely know that it is the norm for kids' parties to have limited numbers due to costs?

She’s a mum of 4, born and bred here herself & had all her kids in this country too! She’s fully knows what she’s doing. It’s sad because my child won’t be inviting her child to any parties going forward because I won’t be dealing with that behaviour again!

What a cheeky fucker! Outrageous.

@Busyybee Agreed. No future invitations. You need better antennae though.

“Actually quite annoyed at her”

Is that it? That seems mild for this awful woman.

Screamingabdabz · 29/03/2026 23:51

You should’ve nipped it in the bud the minute she turned up with an uninvited sibling. CF’s have no shame.

Yes I should have, although I felt out of order as I had other peoples other kids there however they messaged me before the party to ask if they could bring them and I don’t need to worry about there food (although I purposely got extra pizza for the kids I was told about) but then she bring extra 3!
