Party invite

Hi, I am having a 50th birthday party and have printed invites. I would like to let everyone know that I will buy everyone the first drink only and am providing a BBQ. I want to set expectations, let people know it’s not a free bar all night (which is the norm for my family) and also let them know there will be bbq food (not just a buffet) so no need to eat before they come. Do you think it is ok to add a note on the reverse of the invite ‘1st drink and BBQ provided’ or do you have any other suggestions?
thanks

I think that is fine and it’s a good idea to let people know along with the invitation. Hope you have a lovely party!

Where is it? At a pub, or have you hired a venue with bar?

I’d probably put it on the front of the invite rather than on the back (unless there’s lots of other info on the back too).
BBQ and first drink provided, main bar available to buy drinks all night.

I think the above two responses answer your question perfectly

I think that sounds perfect. Except for it being a physical invitation. Much prefer it on a picture message on watsapp or a group so I don’t worry about losing it and the details.
BBQ will be awesome! Have a great party.

“Welcome drink and BBQ provided - come hungry!”

or the above without the “come hungry” if you haven’t over-catered too much like we always do 😂

I say this as a corporate network/party slave, socials organiser and former bride (who also hosted a 30th birthday) I love paying for people to socialise and Welcome Drink sounds good and makes it clear it’s one and done 😊♥️
