What do I need for a successful wedding BBQ?

Please help, we have planned a small wedding with a bbq the following weekend, I just don't want people to think it was crap!

Is it your wedding? Congratulations

Is the bbq next weekend, or the week after the wedding?

How many people?

Lunch time or evening?

What ideas have you had so far?

I'm sure no one will think it's crap whatever you do!

Wedding is next Monday! BBQ is a week Saturday. We are starting the BBQ at 5pm til everybody has gone! We are estimating about 30 people onwards, we are setting up Rock Band on the tv for them to play, we have music all sorted and plenty of drink, but I'm worried they will be bored! Any ideas what else to do?

I wouldn't worry about people being bored - as long as there's food, drink and music - people should have a good time. They're there to celebrate with you

It seems to be the trend at the moment (especially with "big" weddings) to provide lots of entertainment - magicians, characterturists etc - as well as the usual band/DJ. Whatever happened to people talking to each other ?!

(not referring to you - just I'm planning my own wedding at the moment and am amazed at all the "stuff" people do )

Music, booze, food, entertainment, good company and a reason to celebrate? I don't think they'll be bored.

As long as there's plenty of food, and maybe even something for later as people get hungry again when they're drinking into the night.

You could do a chocolate fountain for pud? Or some bbq marshmallow biscuits?

Make sure you tell people to bring their cameras and send you copies of the photos afterwards.

It sounds like a lovely wedding. Enjoy it!
