Thoughts on signing a card?

My Husband and I have different opinions on this!

I am happy writing and signing birthday cards from our family (my Husband, myself and our daughter).

My Husband insists on him signing his own name though. He thinks it comes across as unthoughtful if he doesn’t.

Of course, I have no issue with this - but I insist it’s completely normal for just one person to write and sign off the card!

What’re your opinions?

My IL’s all sign their own names on cards, including kids. We’ve never done it, but I always thought it was sweet.

Dh always signs his own name but if he is out he has no issue with my doing so

I just sign from all of us but we do receive cards from others where it’s clear everyone has signed them.

(PS. My DD is a baby so she can’t sign herself yet!!)

If we really like the person we all sign (if we really really like you, kids will send their own cards)

But most cards I sign.

How about order?

I sign from DH, me then kids in birth order if it is his family/friends

But me, DH then kids if it is my family/friends.

My mum signs all mum, dad, kids- she says she writes all the bloody cards so she is being named first!

I think it's normal to sign for the family but I do notice when I get a card where each individual has signed it and it does feel more personal.
