Help!! Fancy dress party ideas!

I am off to an "American" themed fancy dress party in a couple of weeks, thinking ds (16mths) will be a cowboy or American Indian and dp can be a burger or something but not sure for myself!! I wanted to think outside the box as there might be a fair few cowgirls or statues of liberty and so thought of doing something from Sex and the City but I look nothing like any of them. Would love to do the Carrie pink leotard and tutu but don't have the figure/ hair/ shoes to carry it off.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to a party as a wild west saloon girl soon. Knee length skirt with a ruffly petticoat underneath, skirt pinned to show bit of leg etc; low top, shawl and feathers.

Ooh Paris Hilton could be good, i just need a chiuhaha (sp I know!). Was looking at doing a pin up girls, 1940's style but ones I've found just look a bit porny iykwim. I was thinking more pencil skirt and shirt like the girls off Britains Got Talent or Christina Aguilera in Candyman, maybe I could put this look together separately?

I thought about saloon girl Slouchy but went to a French theme party last year as a Moulin Rouge girl and they look very similar! I suppose I could carry a gun to make it look different!

my friend is having a hollywood themed fancy dress party and we all have to get all glammed up in red carpet frocks, and shes rented out a very fancy venue - was dreading it at first cos 1. i thought it was going to be really tacky and 2. i look like michelle mcmammouth at the minute, but it's acutally been quite fun and girly. maybe you could do old movie glamour... though people might just think you've comed far too overdressed.....
