Hey
So I’m thinking of ideas for my daughters 6th birthday.Money is a bit tight right now so a birthday party isn’t going to be possible.
i was thinking maybe I could take her to meet some of her friends at McDonald’s and pay for their happy meals, then maybe play in the McDonald’s play area afterwards? Is that a weird idea? Just don’t want to come across as cheap.
I could bring cupcakes for afterwards as well so it’s a bit more like a birthday party lol

That sounds very generous, and not weird or cheap at all.

Good idea. Depending on how many happy meals you by they may discount you for some. Know someone who bought 30 happy meals but they only charged her for 20 of them

It's a good idea, OP! You can make handmade birthday crowns for her friends, maybe something like that
If you're able to, make a birthday slideshow with DD's photos and you can play it at the party if you have a tablet or at home just for her. If there is a song she specifically likes, definitely include it as well.

How many friends are we talking?
Because wouldn't a few frozen pizzas, tub of cheap ice cream and a colin the caterpillar cake be less or about the same as buying the happy meals?Entertainment could be a few party games or a disney film etc

I'd do a cheap party at home if you can.

It won't cost much to cater (less than Mcdonalds probably).

Few games and balloons and you're grand.
