Gruffalo party supplies - help!

So my son has requested and been promised a Gruffalo 3rd birthday. I dutifully saved all the party supplies to a list on Amazon but half have since gone out of stock. They mainly seem to be sold by Smiffys on their website, Amazon shop and eBay shop but a lot of the items are out of stock everywhere!

Does anyone know of anywhere else that might have stuff!? Or some inside knowledge as to whether these are likely to have been discontinued!? Bad mum guilt creeping in - will have one devastated boy if he doesnt have his gruffalo party!!

Looks to be back in stock on Amazon - they have plates, cups and party bags

And the platters are on eBay

LSC123 · 04/05/2025 17:18

Thanks all - I've seen these few bits but I could only see one pack of platters on ebay and I need 2 and I can't find the napkins anywhere. It's also getting pricey paying delivery from multiple places but will have to take the hit if needed. Am wondering whether they've been discontinued and are about to be replaced with a new range - would rather get all matching if poss but don't know if the napkins will come back into stock anywhere!

Surely if you have some gruffalo stuff you can intersperse with non-gruffalo stuff. Believe me, no one, least of all your DC will notice.

Yeah I've just ordered everything I could and will get some napkins in matching colours :)

What kind of party is it?

You can add to the theme with other things like eg pass the gruffalo instead of pass the parcel (get a sweet when it lands on them). Balloons in gruffalo colours. Gruffalo colouring sheets. Foil curtains are good.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the plates. If attendees are all children, food boxes are easier and you could buy brown ones and add a gruffalo sticker. Or they make good party bags.

The main thing to theme (as they will notice more than everything else) is the cake. Are sell or or you can probably buy a personalised topper somewhere like Etsy. Or just shove your gruffalo figures in a chocolate cake.

Thanks everyone. I’ve had a few shops say that the range has finished and won’t be coming back into stock, they’re not aware of any replacements either. I’ve got most bits from various places that had some stuff left in stock so hopefully I can get by with what I’ve found!

Thank you but they’re sold out unfortunately

I wonder if It’s because there is a new Gruffalo book coming out soon. I saw it on Newround last week! Sorry that isn’t helpful OP

I wondered this too!! Maybe they’ll release a whole new range to coincide with that! 😊

Have you got the Gruffalo cook book?! Not what you asked but they have lots of party food ideas - all themed. Made the Gruffalo cake for my son from the cookbook at about the same age!

RabbitsRock · 07/05/2025 21:33

Have you tried The Range, B & M or Home Bargains?

fiorentina · 07/05/2025 21:41

You could still create lots of gruffslo
themed bits and pieces, footprints, characters on the wall etc. Pinterest has loads of ideas.
