OK - DH's 40th party is less than four weeks away.
So far we have - booked a local cafe for the evening 7pm to 2am. They are providing food and a DJ so that is sorted at least.
We have about 60 adults and 40 children coming (we think)
What we are saying to people is that the first couple of hours will be child oriented - DJ will play suitable music and there will be some children's food.
After 9pm people are welcome to stay on with their children but those with little ones may want to head off. We will do adult food about 9.30pm.
We were thinking of doing a welcome drink on arrival and glass of sparkling around 10pm when we cut the cake. Cash bar for everything else. Do you think this is OK or would you expect more free booze?
Decorations - I haven't done anything about these yet or about anything other than a disco to amuse the children. Has anyone got any suggestions?
We are on a tight budget as we have spent all the money we can afford on food and DJ. Any other suggestions anyone can think of - I really want to make it a special night for DH and we have lots of old friends coming from all over the place.
