Book Themed Party

I’m someone who goes OTT (in the opinion of my friends and family) for kids parties… previously private hired soft plays, had petting farms attend, slush puppy machine the lot….

my little girl is turning 1 and I’ve decided to do ‘Chapter ONE’ theme and I’m a sucker for going all out for the theme! I’m starting to regret my choice but determined to stick to it, some help with ideas would be amazing from entertainment (I have hired bouncy castle, soft play etc) to food ideas to everything else would be amazing! We’re going for a pastel colour scheme with the theme!

So the theme is first chapters of books? Do books for young children typically have chapters? Or do you mean just books in general?

If you just want it to be book themed then I’d pick a book which is easy to theme. Hungry caterpillar would be an obvious one as you can buy loads of stuff in the theme and there’s all the food within the book.

You can make a 3d slideshow quiz for your guests with questions based on various kids books and screen adaptations of them. You need to decide on which books to include in there, though, because said books should be known to all the guests or at least to the majority of them, so that the game would be entertaining. Don't make it too long, but it could be a nice kickstart of the party. You can give out small prizes like bookmarks.
