What did your baby boy wear for his naming/christening?

DS will be 7 months when we have his naming ceremony, and I haven't a clue what to dress him in! I'm not too keen on the 'little man' look, of a mini suit or button shirt and tank top IYKWIM, but I don't know what else to go for.
It would be much easier if he was a girl, there are thousands of gorgeous dresses out there !
Any suggestions, anyone?

one wore a lovely pale blue merino wool cardi and trousers from jojomamanbebe and the other (who was 2 at the time) white linen trousers and grandad shirt from Next. I suppose it depends on the weather and your budget but these people always have an impressive range. I bought dd's christening dress from them and the customer service was superb. Good luck.

A christening gown.

DS1- ivory silk romper suit from john lewis

ds2- made him a propewr robe in blue duchesse satin

ds3- not christening but naming- proper wool tweed knickerbockers with ivory peter pan colalred shirt, very cute (was a garden ceremony)

i found a white velour babygrow in tkmaxx with a bit of fancy (but boyish) white trim.

he was a very chubby 9 month old and looked gorgeous - like a mini ginger-haired elvis!

Wow, thanks for the speedy replies everyone!
Rumblethump, I have a ginger boy too, but he's on the skinny side, maybe an younger Elvis?
It sounds like all your boys looked adorable, there are some great suggestions there. Now to narrow down the choices

My ds wore my dad's christening gown that everyone in my family has worn, it's 73 years old now.... if I hadn't had that, perhaps a nice babygrow and something white to put on him (Catholic church, you need something white)

My DS1 had a nice outfit from Debenhams on; trousers and top. DS2 had jeans and shirt on because I left DH to get him ready while I did party food. He forgot his shoes as well!

A raw silk Christening robe, which was made a by a dress designer.

In the days when we had money.

It is rather beautiful, and has been used by all his cousins.
