Hi all

I’ve organised a party at home for DH’s milestone birthday next week. We have 15 adults and 9 kids coming (between ages 1-7) and having it in the early afternoon thru to the evening.

I’m planning on some old school Xbox/Wii group games (mainly for reminiscing our teenage years!) a disco ball for the kids and maybe a kids craft table. Food wise, doing made-ahead crowd pleasers such as pulled pork, chili, pie. Drinks and punch available for adults who are drinking.

I’m hoping that’ll tick enough boxes for it to be fun yet relaxed. If anyone has any ideas or have been to similar style parties and have seen things that have worked really well, I’d love to hear!

Thanks x

Heyyy OP. Love a good party planning thread, and yours sounds amazing! 💗

Non-alcoholic drinks are biggg right now so maybe plan the punch to be alcohol free, or buy a load of canned mocktails (the j20 new mocktail range is great!) ~ you might get through more than you expect.

Perhaps make a dedicated corner for the kids to zonk in with a movie/have a doze if the party runs longer. Last time I literally brought all my cushions/pillows downstairs to make a giant nest, and had my laptop ready to pop a Disney movie on. I have adorable photos of the kids all asleep in a heap 😂

Have some music around for when people aren't playing the video games

Decide early what food you'll move back into the kitchen after eating, and what snacks will stay out! I like keeping a couple of fun snack trays to one side until later in the evening so there's always something fresh and new to much 😋

Ah this is exactly what I was hoping for! Great ideas - especially the movie corner. Thanks!

Perhaps you could have a craft table set up to entertain the kids. Baker Ross have some great craft kits which include everything you need and are mess free! They do affordable kits with lots of different themes, my daughter especially loves the charm bracelet kits and diamond art kits. Highly recommend!
