First Class Party Advice Please? 🥳🎈

Evening,

My 7 year old is very much in his Harry Potter Era (despite only reading the first book) and has asked for a Harry Potter theme for his first class party.

I’ve found an Entertainer to do a “wizard workshop” and they’ve suggested serving food after they leave which will be around 2:30pm. I know it’s likely quite early and the kids might eat much but I feel like food will be expected.

How do I round the party off? Do I need music whilst the kids are eating? & would you suggest trying to fit something in before they go like a simple party game? Entertainment, food, home time seems a bit abrupt to me although I’m only working with around 30 minutes and possibly over thinking it. Any advice appreciated! Thank you!

Will guests have had chance to eat lunch before the party? If so, I’d just do cake and crisps
or similar. If you tell people that due to the time of the party it will just be cake they can plan for that.

Do the cake once the entertainer leaves. If you do cupcakes you don’t waste time chopping. Then let them run around with balloons for 15-20 mins. Bring out party bags to signal ‘time to leave’

Let parents know whether they are expected to stay or not

Do an afternoon tea, few sandwiches and crisps a mix of little cakes and biscuits, nobody will expect a full on meal at 2.30!
