My son is 21 very soon, unfortunately it's a week day. We've all booked the day off but no idea what we will actually do on the day. It's getting close now. Help!?

What does he want to do?

I think he is hoping I will come up with something!

My go too last minute event is an escape room but at 21 that might not be cool enough for him. Not sure what your son is into but other options could be paint-balling or climbing, very young birthday party ideas but there’s a reason corporates go to them as well. Perhaps a brewery tour. Honestly the best I can think of is anything you can see a hipstery company going to for team building.

Dont know where you live but how about theatre and a meal? Could you go on a boat trip? Look at an experience website - hot air balloon, drive a tank?

Dinner then something afterwards, depending on his interests and location.

How did it go OP.

Also have this problem and its a winter birthday. DS originally said he wanted to go out for a family meal with just us (he would go out with his Uni mates just before his actual birthday) and go out with some local mates the day after his birthday. But I think he is now worried they will all come home different days/dates and a few of them have girlfriends in tow now so he is thinking they may not be available and saying he doesn’t want to do anything now. I thought I might invite a few of our friends over who know him the night after his birthday and a couple of family members who live locally then if his friends come round for pre’s that day it should still work?!? Now I am not sure. He is normally quite a sociable lad and we have two rooms. Don’t want to do nothing and also don’t want to upset him. We can’t go away but could have a day out somewhere but not for long and not ideal as we have an old dog and don’t live near a big city with lots of things going on and happening.
