We had roast beef and tbh, I think I'd have it again! Although, it probably wasn't the best option for a hot summers day!

you need a veg option
fish usually not great
nor beef
chicken safe bet
with nice pud like choc cheesecake

and salad to start

I've just been to 2 weddings. At the first one the meal was 2 different meats (no idea what as I'm veggie but they were carved as required) with a huge selection of salads and bread. Pudding was trifle, banoffee pie, fruit salad and chocolate cake. Most people had some of each.

Wedding 2 had a buffet with a huge selection of dishes. There was a chicken curry, rice, various cold meats, veg samosas, veg filo parcels, salads, potato salad, pasta salad. Pudding was fresh fruit salad, cheesecake, some individual mousse- thing in glasses. All the guests had something they enjoyed and it was very well received.

We had lamb too - and I'd have it again, it was gorge! Mushroom risotto for the veggies, which according to my sister and veg. friends wasn't all that. At SIL's wedding for the vegetarians there was some kind of veggie strudel with roasted peppers and courgettes which was absolutely delicious (I had it because I'm not keen on poached salmon, which was the alternative).
