60th birthday involving grandchildren London

Hi!

My dad will be visiting London in May, we’re based in SW London.
Staying for one night we will be celebrating his 60th birthday.

Any ideas on what we could do to make it special that we can involve the grandchildren in? They’re toddlers by the way.

Eating out probably a no go because my daughter insists on climbing out of her high chair every two seconds!

TIA!

Can't you get a babysitter and go out for an adult evening meal.
Being in your home during the day, your father will see enough of your children.

What does your dad like? I’d start there and then work out what could overlap with toddlers. It’s a tough one though, special celebration for a 60YO isn’t a natural pairing for very young kids especially if you can’t do restaurants. Would something like a day out to Wisely (if he likes gardening) or Hampton Court (if he likes history) be along the lines of what you’re thinking, or is that too mundane?

Just popping back on in case anyone else is looking for something similar - we booked Chessington in the end and all had a blast. We’ve been before with the kids and my Dad is pretty young at heart and so loved the rides himself, and loved seeing his grandkids having fun at the same time. Great day out!
