What gifts do you wish you had been given when your babies were born?

Hello, just trying to gather ideas for the best baby shower gifts for a new mum. When I had my daughter I just got piles of clothes and stuffed animals and ended up having to spend a fortune on what we actually needed. Just wondering what you all wish you had been given, or received and absolutely loved?

Never had, or been to a shower but my most useful things:
Bouncer chair
Some shaped cotton burping cloths that fit perfectly on my shoulder.
changing mat
Snow suit -had so much use out of that!
My first year milestones album/journal.
Blankets.

Nappies 😂

Champagne and chocolate for me! Sleepsuits in bigger sizes.

vouchers were very useful then I could get what we needed
nappies toiletries also useful

Nappies , nappy sacks , Cotten wool , body vests

Supermarket vouchers were really helpful. Self care items were a Godsend

Best presents for baby were books, nice toiletries, and bits for beyond new born! Friend bought me a nice nail varnish, work sent a basket of brownies, treats for mums also very kind.

Stretchy sling for the new, newborn stage.

I had a brilliant roll up towelling travel changing mat that went everywhere with us and could be chucked into the wash and dried easily.

Vouchers are such a good idea.

I got a changing basket with nappies, wipes, nappy bags, sudocreme - nothing fancy but all got used.

The best actual gift I got was a white company hooded baby towel - got used every day and became a cherished keepsake.
