So it's tradition in my workplace to have a fun celebration for someone whose child is getting married. Think "Mother-of-the-bride/groom". They always get one of those succulent plants nicknamed "Mother-in-law's tongue" and then some quirky gifts that relate to the theme eg tissues for when you cry etc. I'm so useless at this sort of clever gift ideas so I'm appealing to the creative Mumsnet collective for help.
