I’m throwing a party at home for my soon to be 8 year old daughter and her 7 friends. The theme is “sweet treats” - like cakes, donuts etc. l have a pack of “make a cupcake magnet” from Baker Ross…

Looking for activity ideas that are NOT baking or cake/biscuit decorating. Themed games, crafts etc?

Thanks

Bobbing for donuts!

Length of string tied between two objects of height with ring donuts hanging off it at various heights.

Hands tied behind backs and donuts eaten!

Like bobbing for apples but no water and try have to reach upwards if that makes sense! 😬

That game where you have to take turns putting on gloves scarf and hat and then cut up chocolate. If anyone remembers that!

Any party game but just change the name:

Musical statues- Frozen Popsicles/Ice pop freeze

Scatter a handful of lollies (one per child) on the ground, kids dance around to music, music stops, kids grab a lolly. remove one, kid without lolly gets put out (but gets the removed lolly given as a treat) a la musical chairs.

Sweet corners...name each corner a sweetie name. kids dance around, music stops and they choose a corner. one corner card is selected at random. everyone at that corner is out. winner is last kid in game

Magic sweetie- (or poison sweet!) select 5 sweets on a plate, sit kids in circle. Bday child starts. they are blindfolded and child to their right points at the magic sweetie (any one- all sweets to be different) so say they choose a hairdo ring...birthday kid points to a sweet and if it isn't the magic one, they can eat it...until they point to the magic one and they CAN eat that but then no more...onto next child...so lucky child may get all 5, one child may only get one.

Pass the parcel- pass round a tub of sweets, loser gets a sweet and put out.

Post-it on the head game- kids either have to guess what sweet treat they are or find their pair...eg sprinkles find ice cream, cupcake finds frosting etc...
