Party bag alternative

Throwing 1st birthday party for dd in a few weeks. There will ge a mixture of ages (5months - 8yo).
Any ideas for alternatives to the bags of choking hazards and sweets we used to get as kits and that doesn't break the bank?
A friend did books for her LO birthday which I thought Essex lovely but don't want to do the same!

A basket of small soft toys for them to choose one each would be popular.

A ball !!! All little ones love a ball ! You can get 2 for 7 in sports direct I think ! (The small size footballs )

And a basket with soft toys is lovely - until the dreaded 2 children wanting the same 1 , tears will be shed lol

Failing that bubbles ,,,, the big size ones that are around £2.99 each , get a personalised thank you sticker on each one (thank you for coming to so and sos 1st birthday - under £5 fir 20 stickers on eBay ) and the jobs a goodun
