How long does it take to rsvp?

Daughter sent her invites out yesterday for a party next month, she’s extremely excited. It’s her 7th and a proper “grown up” uv/glow disco party with entertainment.

how long do people take usually to reply? I thought I would have heard from at least one or two people by now lol she’s so excited!

Did you put a reply date on?

It sometimes could take us a while to work out if our child was available and it was logistically possible to get her there.

If you sent them out on paper then they may have not made it home. Can you follow up by text/WhatsApp?

Indoorvoicesbluey · 24/05/2023 09:15

I did put a post on the class Facebook page. Il leave it a couple of weeks then follow up with a copy on there. She invited the whole class so hopefully a few turn up lol

I reply the same day as otherwise I may forget. I check the book bag every day anyway but if its a party invite my child is normally very excited about them so tells me anyway. So I text yes/no and then it goes on the fridge as a reminder.

Still waiting 🥺 lol she’s invited 30 kids, we’ve heard back from 4 and that’s only because I know the person and messaged them lol

You've been so kind to invite everyone, hope DD gets lots of 'yes's'. On a positive though, if I can't make it, I tend to answer immediately whereas an acceptance may be a slower response.

I felt awful at the thought of leaving someone out.

iv put a post on the school fb group and 40 people have seen it but no replies to it lol so even if they haven’t checked book bags yet they know there’s an invite :(

I hope people turn up :(

My recent experience was that people were really poor at rsvp-ing! Sent out invites 3.5 weeks in advance, heard from a couple of families straight away, then replies gradually trickled in but majority I didn't hear from until week of party, some not until day before, and some not at all.

All was well in the end. I have to say I privately thought, I know there are lots of parties, commitments etc but I always reply pretty promptly and it seems bad manners to me to wait until a couple of days before? But it seems the way it is these days so you may have to sit tight.

How long is it until the party?

Indoorvoicesbluey · 25/05/2023 10:07

It’s in 4 weeks.

Every morning and afternoon I’m stood in the queue with parents, surely you could just say? lol

Try not to panic. For my daughter's 4th we only had a couple of replies in the first week and then nothing until a week or two before. We got about three quarters in the end!

Yip people are so bad at replying to party invites, like shockingly bad at my kids school. Leaves you feeling so worried no one will turn up, but rest assured I'm sure you'll get a flurry of replies closer to the date. The most recent party I had for my 8 year old I set up a WhatsApp group for the ten parents and pretty much got all the replies that evening! So much less hassle than paper invites

Getmeacoffee22 · 15/06/2023 20:42

I’m in this situation now! How did it go?

Indoorvoicesbluey · 30/06/2023 11:41

Party tonight! 25 out of 32, 4 not heard from.
I had 3 rsvp yesterday night…
