Usually I'm okay with buying presents but DD has 6(!) birthday parties over the next month and my inspiration has run dry. Any gifts under a tenner that were a hot with your 6 year olds please?

Look in The Works!
They have loads of things for £5 atm, pebble painting, scratch art, hungry hippo game, operation 😊

Cococomellonn · 06/03/2023 20:59

Orchard toys games. We keep several in the gift cupboard.

A book.

Usborne sticker books or character children's torches have been a hit with my daughter's friends.

Not long out this stage and my go to presents were the works multi buys with a bag of haribo. Also the entertainer do really amazing toys on sale, I got buzz lightyear ones recently for like £8.50 and some LOL stuff for under a tenner. Often they have Barbie crafts round about the £4-7 mark.

The works also do the multibuy books so I sometimes get those to add on.

Mini Lego kits are good, you can get them on Amazon for around £9, sometimes less.

This 100%

I bought 3 books for £5 from The Works at the weekend - aged 5+ , really lovely stories and good quality

Was a lovely gift that was well received

I used to buy books in bulk from places like The Works or Books2Door. You can buy a set of, for example, Roald Dahl books for £40. That’s 16 books which I’d split into pairs along with a big bar of chocolate and wrap them up. That’s 8 presents sorted for about £7 each!

I hate it when my DC get given stuff like kinetic sand, playdoh, etc so make a point of never giving it!

£5 in a card, I would be more than happy with that as would my DDs they always buy something special with any birthday money they get.

Last couple of parties 5 & 6yos beanie boo, my DDs love them and my 5yo wanted to buy her friend a particular one, £7.99 but that was from the local spar, cheaper elsewhere. Tub of dinosaurs £8 from tescos.

Don’t buy books, most kids have enough and every time my DDs get them they are put to one side because they have so many and quite often because they already have them.

Monster Jam, Official Batman Monster Truck, Collector Die-Cast Vehicle, 1:24 Scale amzn.eu/d/fh6mJph

These are often on offer in Sainsbury's or Argos for about £7-8. DS(6) got one for his bday and loved it, so I often get them now.

I sometimes buy these sort of activity tins as well with a pack of £1 felt pens from The Works or a bag of Haribo. fabfinds.co.uk/products/roblox-unite-colouring-activity-books-tin?gclid=CjwKCAiAu5agBhBzEiwAdiR5tC-zZAVPX6HVpI1BYtuf7az56SazSHMH3BCyELDv-g6Hd5JqBg7x0RoCZ2UQAvD_BwE

I bulk buy stuff in the Smiggle sale. It goes down well.

daffodilandtulip · 06/03/2023 21:28

Home bargains have mini blackboards with little wooden edging for a couple of quid. The kids love them.

justanothermummma · 06/03/2023 21:29

Go to The Range, they usually have a clearance section where you can get great art stuff for £4 or less, I usually stock up on a few bits when I visit for either presents or school holiday activities x

rollerblind · 06/03/2023 21:30

MumOf2workOptions · 06/03/2023 21:57
