Does anyone have any ideas for my DD's 2nd birthday party?

Our group of friends met through post natal baby group and my DD is the youngest so for the past 3 months we've had birthday party after birthday party and although I'm really happy to do similar again I thought I'd ask what you'd do (games/food/any themes etc) for a two year olds birthday party incase there's things we hadn't thought of/hadn't been done in our baby group!

my ds 2nd birthday party was a firman party and my dd had a pink party.

Check out the local swimming pool/soft play centre/museum/park.

sorry should've added that it needs to be in our house as finances are restrictive!

Bigdonna, did you play any games? Pass the parcel was a nightmare at the last party, they all wanted to just open all the layers!

Are 2yr olds too young for pin the tail on the donkey?

IMO 2yr olds just want to play with the new toys, you could put on some music and get the crayons out-use a roll of cheap wallpaper or lining paper, plenty of balloons and bubbles, playdo-easy to make although prob will get everywhere, I personally think that at 2 they are too young to follow rules so just try to keep it simple. For my Ds 2nd birthday just had his friends etc round to play with toys then birthday tea with jelly and ice cream.
Good luck!

Play - that all my ds did with his little friends - i also contacted the local fire station and they paid us a visit - they let them play in it put the lights on and the nee nor nee nor - i loved it!!

no we did not as i had about 20 2yr olds and yes they just wanted to play in garden and with all the toys

Chorus - wow that's great! Didn't know they could do things like that.

Cathy/Bigdonna, you're right they will want to do lots of playing. I thought I'd check on here if other people's 2 yr olds are doing other things - to give me some ideas but if that's what other little ones are up to then that's cool for me!

Music, great idea. I'll see if I can get a new CD with kids stuff on

For music we had the cbeebies album on - i do love parties at home!

We brought the paddling pool indoors and filled it up with balls for dd's second birthday - had about 15 kids around and they all loved it, the only trouble we had was a fight broke out between 3 of the little boys over who got to use dd's hoover...

Hi - you really do not need to do anything. The children will enjoy playing with toys they don't have and the parents will enjoy each other's comapny.

Pass the parcel with parents helping, musical bumps (twice), an Easter egg hunt and then tea.
