DD is having a party for her 9th birthday.
In previous years I've invited the whole class as I've not wanted to leave anyone out. However, once i've factor in siblings and relatives it's just not sustainable cost-wise. Further, I've realised no one else invites the whole class.
This year, I've agreed with DD she can invite 20, including herself, out of a class of 30. I thought that seems fair and it wasn't leaving just a couple of children out.
DD picked who she wanted to invite.
The venue is pay per head (it was previous years too) and I cannot afford to pay for the whole class.
One parent of a child DD didn't invite has blanked both me and DH this week. She actually started at me and crossed the road. She will usually say 'hello'. It's really unsettled me and making me second guess not inviting everyone.
For info, DD has not been invited to this child's party in the past but this may be because they haven't had one.
Has anyone experienced similar and what did you do.
