Hiya - haven't posted on mumsnet for years so be kind! 🤣 Never done a kids party before because of Covid!

DS (5) wants a Halloween party but our house is small and they've already invited about 20 kids (all be it verbally in the playground) in excitement before I actually settled on the idea so I've been blindsided into it! If it was any other time of year, plan would be let them run riot in the Garden. If the weather isn't poo possibly still will

... but how do I entertain a load of kids in my front room, can I just get them to dress up, stick some music on and get some colouring and few crafty bits out?

Is it cheating to make a load of popcorn maybe some hot chocolates and stick a film on an hour in or will that not wash with a load of kids?

Thank you for any advice and or bubble bursting - I haven't a clue 🤣

At 5 they need more direction. You'll need party games with a Halloween theme and either you or another adult (1:6 minimum) will need to corralle and entertain while someone makes food.
Good luck: it's completely doable but you need to be more involved that just sticking hem in a room with music, unfortunately!!

And sorry but.....at 5 a movie won't keep most of them entertained and they will drift.
