Not for any special occasion, but just trying to organise an evening out for a group of (female) friends and was wondering if anyone had any ideas other than goign to a restaurant? That's what we alwyas end up doing so would just be nice to have a change. All ideas gratefully received!!

spa or sauna or get a beautician round and all have manicures and wine or fake tan or theatre or cinema (though not easy to chat go to wine bar afterwards) or laser quest or archery or or or ...

ooh ooh ooh i like the idea of cermics painting. will look into that!! pamper party could be interesting but the one site i looked at was quite dear, £40 a head; plus if you add food on ...

archery? it is interesting, i'll give you that, but not sure it's really my cup of tea!

i'd go clubbing but not sure about the others. i thought of maybe a jazz club, but don't know of any around here (bucks / berks).

thanks for these ideas, anyway, it's a great start!

greyhound racing? casino? cooking demonstration/lesson and then eat the food? wine tasting?

pukkapatch · 23/01/2008 22:29

virgin vie, body shop etc will come round with their products and let you try them on for free. and usualy when you try, you end up buying something as well,s oworks out quite well. people only buy if they want to.
either get everyone to bring a bottle,a nd do nibbles yourself, or order a take away in, . much cheaper than going to ar estaurant.

pukkapatch · 23/01/2008 22:29

ZippiBabes · 23/01/2008 22:30

fishie · 23/01/2008 22:31

wow that you go out so often that an evening in a restaurant is dull.

evansmummy · 23/01/2008 22:36

as if fishie, but at the mention of a restaurant, they all went "uh not again...". I'd go down the pub, i'm that happy to get out of the flat

i didn't want to do one of those shopping evenings cos you alwys feel under pressure to buy. but i do like the idea of a cooking demo.

what's a snowdome?
