VALENTINES RIP OFF

drives me crazy that restaurants do set menus on valentines.

dh unecpectedly suggested we go with another couple tho The Crazy Bear in london, we never do anything for valentines but he is trying to make an effort.

phoned and churpy receptionist announced we could dine at 7.15 or 9.15 for £85.00 each!!
i remarked it was very expensive and she said "ooh you do get A GLASS of champagne and 10 courses" wtf, we would still have to buy drinks .

so our night out if we were saps would have cost
£170 food
£22.50 babysitter
$40.00 cabs
£30.00 extra drinks

total £265.50

we would have to be madly in love to spend that.why is it such a rip off every year?

I know - we always have a nice romantic meal at home - we have pushed the boat out before and had lobster from M&S for a grand total of £30.00. Feels special and I put loads of candles out everywhere. Not sure why I would want to pay hundreds to eat the same food that costs half the day after!
