7 year old small birthday gathering

Hello, this year we're not having a proper party for my daughter, just a family gathering in the morning/lunch then two or three friends over for a play date in the afternoon with a couple of games and cake. However I'd like to surprise her with something to make the day more special. I'm looking into one of those visits from a "princess" but was wondering what other ideas anyone had for surprises on the day for at home? Thanks!

I think mine would have thought themselves too old for a princess visit at 7, we did that for their 5th birthday party.

I'd put some little goodie bags together with activities for them dependent on what they are interested in, or set up a home cinema, popcorn machine (can't get them for £20 on Amazon)

Horse and carriage ride? I know a lady who supplies horses and carriages for weddings but has also done children’s parties - ideal if she’s only having a few friends as everyone can pile in together and go off round the local roads for half an hour (an adult would have to go too, and I suppose it depends on how calm the roads are where you live)
