Am helping to organise a charity do for the local pre-school and am desperate for ideas for a theme which would be fun and relatively easy for people to dress-up for.

Last year we had a 'Glitter Ball' disco which was 70's themed. It was a great success and everyone totally entered into the spirit. I'm hoping we can come up with something that is just as good.

Any ideas would be really welcome. Don't forget this is for adults not children. Thanks.

If you do casino Royale you could hire a casino/croupiers etc It works very well with prizes for the one who amasses the most chips.

we had a "B" party. everyone had to come dressed as something begining with the letter B - butterflies, batman, Bee, burgular, bagpipes, beachball, brides etc etc. everyone really got into the idea and went to town on their outfits?

Great ideas! Thanks. Am going to look complete smartass at committee meeting and shamelessly claim your ideas as my own!

For my dh's 40th we had a 'Kings & Queens' party - it was great everything from dancing queens, pearly kings & queens, Elvis (the king), queen bees, a lion!!!

Loads of ideas with people to choose their own angle!

Good luck!

Toga party- nice & easy but if some want to glam it up they can.

Have a "Best what yu've got on under your toga " comp at midnight (or AN other time)

Hilarious!!

One fancy dress party I went to was "Film Extras". You went as a non speaking character from a film - it was lots of fun guessing who was from what film and of course, lots of opportunity to dress up (or down!) if that's what you want.

hat parties go down well as people can still get really dressed up and just pop a hat on
