Party popper in a party bag !!! is it me?

Ds has been to a party today, for a 5th birthday. When he brought his party bag in, the first thing he pulled out was a party popper.

I think this is totally inappropriate for a 4 or 5 year old, after all they can be dangerous. We pulled the string for ds, to get it out of the way.

Am I just being over-protective?

That should be ds (5)

Not over protective at all. My kids would not know what they were and might pull the popper whilst looking at it and it would go off in their face. A really crap idea .

i wouldnt put them in a party bag for under a 10 really unless i told the mum.

i would not want to be held responsible for some child damaging their eye.

maybe it was in there by accident or she ran out of gifts and was not thinking.

ah well - remember to check the bags in future.

No, I'm too scared to set them off. I absolutely hate them. They are OK for grown-ups but not appropriate for 5 year olds.

I agree with you easy - not a good idea in a party bag.

I wouldn't have been pleased either. They are dangerous and, like lou33, someone let a party popper off in my face a few years ago and it really did hurt.
