....it's in July, and I fancy either renting a largish property and having a weekend "do", or having a party in a local hotel/venue. DH would rather not do anything (in denial!) but as it's a special year, I feel it would be a shame not to do anything. We're in Berkshire and could travel within the South East of England (due to location of relatives).
TIA

Instead of a party, why not have loads of special days; for example a hot air ballon, a trip to see his fav footie team.

i'm not really in to making a big fuss but I've got an "0" bday this year so I'm having a weekend house "party". BBQ and garden games and swimming during the day on Saturday leading in to candle-lit/fires in garden in evening. But it people will be staying/camping from Friday to Sunday. You could rent a place to do this but we're fortunate in that my parents are happy to be kicked out of their house for the weekend and they live in a lovely area with a huge garden. Can you do something like that? English Country Cottages have some larger properties and do 3-day breaks and you can search for a property with pool, games room etc
