Sustainable party bag bits

Hello
Does anyone have good, budget friendly ideas for party bags to hand to classmates that aren't full of plastic?

No judgement and I've made them myself in the past, but now trying to make small changes and don't want to include a load of bits that will just end up in landfill!

Any ideas for things that are recyclable / useful / keepsakes or a fun activity - all small enough to go inside a little bag?

Thank you in advance

My DD adores the metal straws she got for Christmas. Buy a pack and split?

I bought a multipack of suncatchers that went into bags along with cake

Years ago now but I used to get box sets of books and split them, add a chocolate bars/pack of sweets and piece of birthday cake.

These are lovely (but expensive depending on how many children are invited).

Basic pencil case (I got some for 99p) couple of pencils/pens + sweets.

One of the mums here does a book for each child wrapped in brown paper - 10 books for £10 from The Works.

What age? Seeds are always good: eg herb Seeds and terracotta pot? sunflower seeds and a measuring tape. Plantable paper. Cress seeds and some kitchen paper for little ones!
Postcard sized plant/animal ID cards for a minibeast hunt (bumblebee conservation or similar org might do one you can download and print yourself
Beginners or real chopsticks depending on age (bamboo so fairly sustainable)
Beeswax wrap?? (But more expensive and not really much fun ;-)
Iron on patches for easy clothes mending if you could find some fun ones that don’t cost £££
Paper rather than plastic bag
Cake

Oh and of course multi pack of books that you split is always an easy option.

Sweets
A few colouring sheets rolled together and pencils/crayons

We often make something at the party that they can take home in their bag. Small cardboard boxes, decorating a pot and planting seeds in it... Nice thing to take home without needing a bag at all.

Cheap mug and hot choc sachet for winter birthday, sundae glass and spoon for summer birthday, seeds andpot spring or autumn. Poundshop or IKEA. Can do for £1.50 a pop

I saw some little paper packets of duck food recently. Etsy maybe.

We did packets of wildflower seeds. I think they were from Amazon, or Etsy and you could print whatever you wanted on them, like "Thanks for coming to xx's 5th birthday party".

Genius. I've just bought some cheap bamboo beakers and hot chocolate sachets. I love this idea.

I got a Mr man box set one year, those black scratch off card with bright colour under in animal mask shape with wooden cuticle sticks, seeds have gone down well, my friend had small party and did potting a small container to take home as an activity, another did those card lunch boxes and a couple of crafts (decorate a slice of log) that went in.

we added these in the past and it's been fun:

we've used these re-usable snack bags to add some sweets as a party favour and they went down very well with kids and parents:
