Have you got a Hakkins Bazaar nearby? They are good for cheap party bag pressies.

or a helium balloon each and some chocolate?

Is your DS's birthday the 30th then?
Same as my DS. So easy to forget isn't it!!

Girls - those necklaces made of sweets; metre lengths of pretty, cheap ribbon; plastic silver and gold jewellery; a pink or purple balloon with ballet shoes on; a gold/silver plastic tiara

Boys - pirate eye patches; a black balloon with a skull and crossbones; pirate hat

Hi Chocoholic
Yes, the 30th!

A really simple idea that looks good, and all available from the supermarket. Get some clear cellophane, some curling ribbon in DS favourite colour, some cheap lollies, some new year party poppers and whistles, and balloons. Cut a square of cellophane and put in a whistle, popper, balloon and some lollies, then tie it up with ribbon. Looks great and is really cheap, it just takes a spare hour to put together.

Hi mummcqoo
I really like your idea - and I've got clear cellophane too! Will get on the case (after Christmas Day of course! ).
Happy Christmas!

Have you visited Redhouse books at redhouse.co.uk. You can get the whole hardback miffy collection (16 books for £15) which you could split up and hand out in party bags.
