Quick ideas for Christmas Party Theme

We had a great 80s party last christmas for my birthday & are planning to have another this year, more as a christmas get together for friends but I want a theme. It's got to be not too over the top or that involves lots of planning but something fairly easy for guests (& us) to do. The only things I can come up with are 'Christmas Sparkle' or 'Tinsel & Tiaras' - anyone got anything better ?!

Hm, was gonna sugges a medevial style X-mas Party, but might need to much preparation etc.

Yes I think that would be too ambitious. I'd like people to make an effort (rather than just putting tinsel round their necks). The only other thing I thought of was a specific colour party (although a friend did a black & white one a while ago)

How about an Oscar/Hollywood Night? That way people can just go as guest and just dress up in posh frocks and those that are more into dressing up as characters can do that, too....
