(or 40th!)

We like depeche mode and the cure and kind of stone roses but obviously it is a party and needs to be a lot more FUN than a lot of that!

So far i have early jacksons, some madonna, m people, mock turtles, black box, buggles, mel c,charles and eddie, cher, david essex so a fairly mixed bag!

I want suggestions and LOTS of them please.
I know i am 40 and should not admit this but i like to dance!

Has nobody mentioned the Smiths? They may have a miserable reputaion but I bet if you put on What Difference Does It Make you will have a lot of happy 40-year-olds rocking out.

Also agree with Groove is in the Heart
And Young Disciples - Apparently Nothin'
I would also put on the Pogues - Fiesta
Some James Brown and Steve Wonder

Moomin · 26/10/2007 16:04

I did a mix for dh's 40th with some of the following stuff:
Name and NUmber - Curiousity Killed the Cat
Love on Your Side - Thompson Twins
Kiss Me - Stephen Tin Tin Duffy
Love Cats - The Cure
Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
Morning Train - Sheena Easton
Fascination - Human League
Ever Fallen In love with Someone - Buzzcocks
Labour of LOve - Hue and Cry
Favourite Shirt - Haircut 100
Don't Stop Til Ya Get Enough - Michael Jackson

Signed Sealed Delivered - Stevie Wonder

Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys

I'm 38 and here are some groups that I can think of Thompson Twins, Curosity Killed the Cat, Shakin Stevens, Haircut 100, Cyndi Lauper,
Heart, The Pretenders, Limahl, Blondie, Adam Ant, Duran Duran, Spandeau Ballet, Ultravox, Queen, Abba, Aha, Banarama, Dire Straits, Kajagoogoo, Huey Lewis and the News

A few songs,
Its my party and Ill cry if I want to,
who sang Happy Birthday, was that Haircut 100?, Laura Branigan - Gloria,
She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals,

This is bringing back memories, I could go on and on,

RoyKinnear · 26/10/2007 19:56
