Children's party venue in East London, but not the City Farm, and anyone got any kittens?

I am once again scratching my head for venue for insanely ambitious and insane party being planned by DS1. I can't do the Hackney City Farm again because of too many ugly memories of hysterical setups and children fighting and damaging each other. Most grateful for any thoughts. Also, anyone got any kittens needing a home?

Nice idea Marina but it really needs to be a blank canvas so that can decorate / orchestrate with obscure theme plotted by DS1 (I think it might be barbarians this week). Thank you though.
Crappy tabby sounds tempting, possibly useful if party theme mutates into "disease vectors" or similar...

how far east does it have to be? have you got any local church/school halls? the stratford one is discover, marina and very nice it is too.
no kittens needed here, but will keep ears open.

How old is DS1? There is a go karting course near mile end that looks fun for kids (obviously not appropriate if he is a toddler)

Not very far east, thanks, bundle - could be central. I am sure there are church halls but am so handicapped by my internet-dependence that not sure how to approach getting one apart from standing outside waiting to trip up the vicar. Hmmm. I suspect I am just being lazy and unimaginative here.

ooh, bessie, I wonder if I could divert him from his awful theme party by persuading him that go karting would be fun. He is turning 7 so would be plenty old enough

we've hired a room at the sobell sports centre for a trampolining party, but they also give you a room for eg bouncy castle etc. also a friend told me about parties at st john's school in highbury (think it's about £70 for the room/playground for a couple of hrs). we've also been to one just off stoke newington church street (opposite abney cemetery entrance) which was a nice big room. and we're going to pirate's playhouse (again!) where you can do your own catering too.

museum of childhood? Think Mile End leisure centre have party rooms, or rooms they hire out anyway. It is near the karting place.

Brilliant, bundle, I will investigate those, thank you. Thanks for karting link, Bessie, you seem to have to be 18 to go go karting (which would probably make it the best party ever for 7 year olds if I put them all in stack heels and moustaches...)

climbing wall at mile end? - I know someone who did a party there for 9 or 10 year old - they loved it! Apparently all v well behaved!

Thanks catgirl, another very fine idea although query the weaponry and furry trousers getting entangled in the ropes. I will be spoilt for choice if can just ditch the theme.

i think surrey is probably too far to go tho from east london
