My son will be 7 at the end of next month and I can't decide what to do for his birthday. He doesn't really enjoy swimming so a swimming party is out, he doesn't want a soft play type thing......I'm thinking maybe a football party but would welcome any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!!

where do you live? its just you can go to castles, they get a tour and food generally - just an idea

Maudy - I've just had this with my ds who was 8 last week.. In the end he invited his best friends over for pizza, play, softplay visit, and dvds which lasted 6 hours and was great.

Boys are much harder than girls to organise parties for imo.

A football party is what my son wants for his 7th birthday party.

What abuot hiring a small local cinema and filling it with his friends - could prob get a good deal on munchies and would look quite impressive him having it all to himself!!

Or approach your local football club and see if they will for a small fee let the boys play on the pitch and have all the parents come and watch - that would be cool?? (well unless you live next to Old Trafford or Highbury of course!!)

How about a ceramics painting party, if you have a place nearby. We did this for my son's 7th birthday - took about 12 kids - and they all designed and painted a plate and had a party tea - great success, plus they get their own design to keep !

Bowling or go karting for a small group of friends ? Or how about a sleepover and video.

Highbury would be perfect for him as he is a Arsenal fan like his Dad but somehow I don't think we can stretch that far!!

Love the idea of hiring a local cinema. Not sure what they have in the Bristol area but will investigate.

I thought of inviting friends round for popcorn and DVD's etc but the thought of filling my house with 8 or so 6-7 year old boys makes me feel slightly faint!!

His best friends birthday is 2 days before his and I think they are going quad biking. Have to think of something equally cool!

Mine is 6 at the end of nov and he is having a pizza express party, where they make and top their own pizzas. Would he like that?
